Matheson part of ‘Us’

Thesp joins Pfeiffer, Willis in Reiner-helmed comedy-drama

Film and TV actor/director Tim Matheson has joined the cast of Castle Rock Entertainment’s comedy-drama “The Story of Us.”

Castle Rock principal Rob Reiner is directing the film about an estranged couple, played by Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer, attempting to resolve their differences and preserve their 16-year marriage.

Matheson plays Pfeiffer’s love interest during her separation from Willis.

Pic is set to begin shooting in Los Angeles at the end of November. Polygram Films will distribute it in the U.S. and Warner Bros. overseas.

Jeff Stott, Reiner and Alan Zweibel are producing. Screenplay’s by Zweibel and Jesse Nelson.

The versatile Matheson just directed his fourth TV movie, “The Agency,” for Showtime Networks.

His numerous feature acting roles include “Black Sheep,” “A Very Brady Affair,” “Drop Dead Fred” and “Fletch.”

This month, he wrapped shooting Miramax Films’ “She’s All That,” opposite Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook.

He’s repped by CAA and manager Beth Cannon.
