Audiences anxious to take a peak at Stanley Kubrick’s long-awaited “Eyes Wide Shut” will apparently have to wait a few months longer. Originally slated for a splashy Christmas release, the Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman starrer has been pushed back until Presidents’ Day 1999.
Warner Bros. execs wouldn’t comment, and the exact reason for the date change isn’t known. However, the delay is certainly in keeping with the history of the top-secret production: Following a grueling 15 months of principal photography, Kubrick recently returned to England to reshoot a number of scenes.
