Joins Martin, Murphy in U comedy
Actor Jamie Kennedy, whose recent roles have included dodging knives as co-star of “Scream” and its sequel, has been tapped for a role in the Frank Oz-helmed comedy “Bofinger’s Big Thing” for Universal Pictures.
Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Heather Graham and Christine Baranski star in the pic produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer.
Pic, scripted by Martin, is about a group of down-on-their-luck filmmakers, led by producer Bofinger (Martin), who is desperately trying to land a “name” for his new project. Kennedy plays Bofinger’s confidante and right-hand man. The character wants to be a cinematographer and thinks that by doing everything his boss asks, he will someday get to shoot his own film.
The film begins principal photography in Los Angeles this month.
Kennedy, who is repped by CAA and Andrea Pett-Joseph of Brillstein-Grey, also has roles in such upcoming pics as Tony Scott’s “Enemy of the State”; and the indies “Starf*cker,” “Bongwater” and “Stricken.”
