Retired actor Joseph Norden, who appeared in films such as “Dillinger” and “The Felony Squad,” died March 30 at the Motion Picture & Television Hospital in Woodland Hills following an extended illness. He was 84.

Born in New York City, Norden became a contract actor at Universal Studios in 1938 and continued his work for more than 50 years. He was a stand-in for both Howard Duff and Ida Lupino and also appeared in the Duff-Lupino TV series, “Mr. Adams and Eve.”

He is survived by a son, Robert.
