ROME — An agency to promote Italian film internationally will be officially unveiled Sept. 4 at the 55th Venice Intl. Film Festival.
President of the agency will be Luciana Castellina, president of the European Parliament’s commission for external economic relations.
Modeled on Gallic film industry structure Unifrance, the agency has been high on Italian deputy premier Walter Veltroni’s list of film initiatives for some months now.
Other founding companies behind the agency are independent producers association API and RAI Intl.
