Director Bharat Nalluri, whose previous films include “Killing Time” and “Downtime,” will helm the third installment in “The Crow” urban Gothic anthology for Miramax Films’ genre banner Dimension Films.
Production will begin in early 1999 on “The Crow: Salvation” from a script penned by Chip Johannessen, whose TV writing credits include “Millennium” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Edward R. Pressman and Jeff Most are producing with Miramax co-chairmen Bob and Harvey Weinstein taking exec producing chores.
The first two “Crow” films, also produced by Pressman and distributed by Dimension, grossed a combined $150 million at the box office worldwide.
“Halloween: H20” co-writer Matt Greenberg, who developed the latest “Crow” story, is co-producing. Richard Potter, senior vice president of production at Dimension, is overseeing the film for the genre label.
The deal was negotiated by Dimension president Cary Granat and Miramax veepee of business and legal affairs Brian Burkin on behalf of Dimension.
