Active twentysomething Josh Hartnett — most recently onscreen as Jamie Lee Curtis’ son in Dimension Films’ horror hit “Halloween: H20” — has inked to play Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton’s son in “Town and Country.”
The pic, which Peter Chelsom is directing, is already in production. Hartnett replaces Danny Masterson who can’t fulfill his role (Daily Variety, June 17) due to scheduling difficulties.
“Town” is about a man (Beatty), who, disillusioned with his marriage, endures a number of affairs before realizing that he truly loves his wife (Keaton).
Other stars of the pic are Goldie Hawn, Garry Shandling, Jenna Elfman and Andie MacDowell.
Hartnett is having a busy year. He co-stars in Dimension’s “The Faculty” — a pic that also features Masterson — and currently is shooting Sofia Coppola’s “The Virgin Suicides,” opposite Kirsten Dunst.
“Faculty” combines the talents of director Robert Rodriguez with screenwriter Kevin Williamson. Robert Patrick, Elijah Wood and Clea Duvall also star in the pic.
Agent Iris Burton, manager Nancy Kremer and attorney David Webber of Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer & Klein repped Hartnett.
