Dixon will adapt ‘Pay’

Upcoming Hyde novel centers on family dysfunction

Bel Air Entertainment has hired film scribe Leslie Dixon to write the screenplay for “Pay It Forward,” based on the upcoming Simon & Schuster novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde about family dysfunction.

Dixon’s screenwriting credits include MGM’s soon-to-be-filmed “The Thomas Crown Affair,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Look Who’s Talking Now” and “Outrageous Fortune.”

Steven Reuther’s Bel Air will produce “Pay” for Warner Bros., where Bel Air is based and where it holds an extensive co-production deal. Warners will distribute.

Bel Air acquired “Pay” through Jonathan Treisman, who’ll executive produce, and Tapestry Films’ principals Peter Abrams and Robert Levy, who’ll produce. Andrew Panay, director of development at Tapestry, brought the project into the company.

Dixon is represented by Todd Feldman of International Creative Management.
