She'll receive Schaffner award at Saturday's ceremonies

C.J. Rapp Pittman will receive the Directors Guild of America’s 1998 Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award.

The award is given to an associate director or stage manager in recognition of service to the industry and to the DGA. Pittman will accept her kudos at the DGA Awards on Saturday.

Her TV stage managing credits include “The Facts of Life,” “The Bonnie Hunt Show” and “Malcolm and Eddie.” Prior to that she served as associate director and stage manager of nine Shakespeare plays for cable TV.

She began her career with NBC News & Sports in New York. She later moved to L.A. and began working in production of television shows, including “Laugh In,” “Donnie and Marie,” “Alice” and “Land of the Lost.”

A DGA AD/SM/PA Council member, Pittman was elected to the council in 1982, serving as its chair from 1993-95.
