HOLLYWOOD — Newcomer James DeBello has joined the cast of New Line Cinema’s “Detroit Rock City,” which begins production in mid-October.
DeBello will play a spaced-out fanatic of the 1970s rock band KISS, who, along with three other teenagers, embarks on a wild adventure to attend the band’s sold-out concert.
Adam Rifkin directs from a spec script by Carl Dupre. KISS frontman Gene Simmons, Takoma Entertainment Group’s Barry Levine and Base 12 Prods.’ Kathleen Haase are producing.

DeBello has recently finished filming Universal’s upcoming “East Great Falls High,” and will appear in the NBC mini-series “The Sixties.”
DeBello’s deal was brokered by his attorney Patti Felker of Nelson, Guggenheim, Felker & Levine, his agent Bonnie Liedtke of Gold Marshak Liedtke, and his manager Marco Cuadros of Full Circle Management.
