Lawrence Kasdan’s breakthrough pic about a reunion of college friends will be celebrating a reunion of its own on Nov. 6, when Columbia Pictures will re-release the pic for its 15th anniversary.
Co-scripted and helmed by Kasdan, “The Big Chill” rang up over $56 million in domestic box office during its 1983-84 run. It received Academy Award nominations for best picture, best screenplay and best supporting actress for Glenn Close. Pic co-stars Tom Berenger, Jeff Goldblum, William Hurt, Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, Meg Tilly and JoBeth Williams.
New prints will feature a digitally re-mastered soundtrack, and the now quadruple-platinum music soundtrack featuring classic ’60s Motown hits has been remastered and will be reissued in concert with the film’s re-release.
