Col falls for ‘Serial Dater’

'Dawson's' producer sells romantic comedy spec

Columbia Pictures has bought “Serial Dater,” a spec script by Jon Harmon Feldman, an exec producer of “Dawson’s Creek.”

The romantic comedy traces the odyssey of a man who, through a strange set of circumstances, finds himself going out on date after date in a relentless search for the elusive girl of his dreams.

Sale, for mid-six against high-six figures, was managed by Feldman’s agents at UTA and his lawyer, Neil Mayer. Columbia execs on the project are Amy Baer and Andrea Giannetti, with Neal Moritz and Todd Hoffman as producers.

In addition to “Dawson’s Creek,” Feldman was a producer on the TV show “The Wonder Years” and wrote and directed the feature “Lovelife,” which won him a best-screenplay award at the 1997 L.A. Independent Film Festival.
