The American Society of Cinematographers is looking for entries to its 13th annual Outstanding Achievement Award competition for television episodic series, movies of the week/pilots and miniseries.
All cinematographers whose original narrative works were shown for the first time on U.S. television, cable or satellite channels in 1998 are eligible to com-pete in the above three categories.
Winners will be announced during a banquet held at the Century Plaza Hotel on Feb. 21. Members of the ASC will be judging the entries.
Past winners include Alan Caso for “George Wallace,” William Wages for “Buffalo Soldiers” and Marc Reshovsky for an episode of “3rd Rock From the Sun.”
Founded in 1919, ASC aims to advance the art of narrative filmmaking and provide a forum in which cinematographers can share experiences and ideas. Membership is by invitation only.
The deadline for entries is Jan. 4 and there is no fee to enter. For more information and entry forms, call (323) 969-4333, or fax (323) 876-4973, or visit the ASC Web site at http://www.cinematographer.org.
