Helmed by Jay Roach, pic stars Russell Crowe, Ron Eldard, Hank Azaria, Lolita Davidovich, Burt Reynolds and Colm Meaney.

Pic is about a young hockey team in Alaska that gets a chance to play the visiting New York Rangers. It is slated to start production Jan. 26 in Canada.

Kelley and Howard Baldwin are producing from a script by Kelley and Sean O’Byrne. Karen Baldwin and Jack Gilardi Jr. are co-producers.

Chaykin’s other credits include “Dances With Wolves,” “Devil in a Blue Dress,” “A Life Less Ordinary” and the upcoming “Jerry and Tom.”

His deal was brokered by Todd Eisner and David Brownstein of Writers and Artists Agency; and his manager Mel McKeon of Quantum Entertainment.
