Bruce Reed, dead at 54

Bruce Reed, a character actor, died Feb. 20 of heart failure at UCLA Medical Center. He was 54.

Reed had been the 84th heart recipient at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on June 24, 1992.

One of Reed’s first screen roles was in “The Lords of Flatbush” (1974), in which he appeared as one of the gang members with Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler.

TV credits included “Cagney and Lacey” and “Search for Tomorrow.”

Reed is survived by his wife, Irene, two sons and two daughters.

Donations in Reed’s name may be made to Cedars-Sinai Medical Heart Transplant Unit.
