‘Black’ tops Saturn awards

Sony hits takes home three nods

Sony’s box office hit “Men in Black” came out on top with three wins at the 24th Annual Saturn Awards presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

Wednesday evening’s ceremony at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Century City honored the year’s top genre efforts, craft and technical achievements in 20 categories. “Men in Black” took the awards for best science fiction film, best supporting actor (Vincent D’Onofrio) and best music (Danny Elfman).

Other winners include Jodie Foster, best actress (“Contact”); Pierce Brosnan, best actor (“Tomorrow Never Dies”); John Woo, best director (“Face/Off”); Mike Web and Michael Colleary, best writing (“Face/Off”); “L.A. Confidential,” best action/ adventure/thriller film; and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” best genre network series.
