NEW YORK — Tom Arnold has signed for roles in two upcoming features with sports themes. Arnold will join the ensemble cast of the Oliver Stone-directed “On Any Given Sunday” at Warner Bros., and he’ll co-star in the indie film “Shepherd.”
In “Sunday,” Arnold joins Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Lauren Holly and Edward Burns in the gridiron drama scripted by John Logan. The film will begin production this fall, produced by Dan Halsted, Lauren Shuler Donner and Clayton Townsend.
Before he begins work on that film, Arnold will co-star with Peter Facinelli, Chris Isaak and Clarence Williams III in “Shepherd,” a film written and directed by James Rowe. Production starts in August.
The film is described as a gripping tale of good and evil that focuses on a group of high school jocks who attempt to cover up a murder committed by an autistic boy. The boys are driven by their team spirit and honor code to remain silent, until a final confrontation.
The film is produced by Sean Furst, Peter Glatzer and Galt Niederhoffer. Moonstone Entertainment is selling foreign rights for the film.
