Kevin Allen will write, produce and direct the comedy-thriller “R.V.” for Interscope Communications.
Pitch is about an 8-wheel recreation vehicle that allows old-timers to be hip and trendy.
Also producing the pic are Lucky Cinema’s Fernando Sulichin and Interscope’s Ted Field, Scott Kroopf and Erica Huggins.
Last week Seagram Co. announced that it would begin merging the remaining assets of Polygram Filmed Entertainment into Universal Studios. At this stage it’s unclear where Interscope, which is owned by PFE, will end up.
Interscope’s releases this year include “What Dreams May Come” and “Very Bad Things.” In production is Garry Marshall’s “Runaway Bride,” starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, for Paramount Pictures/Lakeshore Entertainment.
Allen’s credits include Brit comedy “Twin Town,” backed by Polygram Filmed Entertainment, and Warner Bros.’ upcoming comedy “Je M’appelle Crawford,” starring Craig Ferguson and Frances Fisher.
“Crawford” is due for release next February.
William Morris Agency repped Allen and Sulichian. Execs Michael Helfant and Jonathan Bader negotiated for Interscope.
