Web video service inks key pacts

VideoSeeker, an Internet video service owned by NBC, has expanded its programming and reach by forming partnerships for news, film trailers and shopping.

In the coming weeks, VideoSeeker will feature on-demand, streaming video clips from MSNBC News, CNBC Dow Jones Business Video, PR Newswire, Film Scouts and ComedyNet. The company will also support high-bandwidth users who access the site from broadband services.

These featured content partners join video content from NBC and third-party programmers already available on VideoSeeker, including monologues from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” celebrity interviews from “Access Hollywood” and backstage footage of NBC television stars.

VideoSeeker has also unveiled “Movie Lounge,” an area where users can play current film trailers. In creating the site, the company partnered with Internet Movie Database.

Additionally, VideoSeeker has partnered with DVD Express, allowing viewers to preview and purchase popular DVD titles; and Impulse! Buy Network, which offers site-wide point-of-sale racks.
