Currey, Mann, Keith, Malooly upped under reorganization
Visual effects giant Industrial Light & Magic and parent company Lucas Digital have restructured senior management organization, creating three new high-level executive slots and boosting four employees.
“We have gone through a good deal of expansion over the last several years,” said Jim Morris, president of Lucas Digital. “We’re restructuring our management group to fine-tune our pipeline and better handle our clients’ production, creative and budgetary needs.”
Under the reorg, Gail Currey has been upped to the new post of vice president and chief operating officer. Currey, formerly ILM’s director of digital production operations, will now be responsible for all traditional effects production departments and production technology areas in addition to the computer graphics group.
Jeff Mann, previously director of production operations, will step into the newly formed role of executive in charge of creative operations. In the position, he’ll oversee ILM’s visual effects supervisors, animation directors, art department and character design group.
Alan Keith, formerly director of business operations and finance at Lucas Digital, has been upped to vice president and chief administrative officer. In the new post, Keith will manage Lucas Digital’s finance, strategic planning, facility development, human resources, legal affairs and business administration.
In addition to these promotions, Marcie Malooly has been tapped as division manager of ILMCP, the company’s commercial production group.
