France’s Canal Sat pacts for vid games

Infogrames to produce int'l interactive games

PARIS — French digital platform Canal Satellite has signed with interactive game producer Infogrames to produce a wad of new vid games for its Canal Sat Jeux thematic channel.

Under the agreement, Canal Sat Jeux will get one new game per month. The games will also be sold internationally to cable and satellite operators, such as BDB in the U.K., D+ in Italy and Canal Satellite Digital in Spain, which use the Media highway decoding technology developed by Canal Plus.

Canal Satellite reports that 70% of subscribers play the five existing interactive games, which include “Tom and Jerry,” designed in association with the Cartoon Network, and “Bobby,” which was put together with Fox Kids.
