Daily Variety sponsors Web marketing confab

Event runs through Friday in Newport Beach

In response to the gaining prominence of marketing on the Internet, Daily Variety is sponsoring a three-day conference exploring entertainment and brand marketing on the Web.

Variety’s Interactive Marketing Summit, which began Wednesday and runs through Friday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach, brings together leading entertainment marketers, brand marketing executives and their agencies in a high-level, informal atmosphere designed to promote relationship building and education.

Steve Perlman, co-founder and prexy of Web TV Networks, will deliver the keynote address at 9 this morning.

The summit includes speakers from major entertainment companies, including the movie, television and music industries, in sessions designed to provide new insights into marketing on the Web. These sessions will dissect interactive promotions and relationships and explore how companies are capitalizing on their Internet investments through partnerships.

Conference attendance is limited to 250. Networking events, such as cocktail parties, dinners and a golf tournament, have been built into the schedule. Entertainment execs, brand managers, marketing execs and their agencies are invited to attend. For info, call (714) 759-0808.
