Alena Mullerova, former program director for Kratky Film, has been named director of documentaries at pubcaster Czech TV. She replaces Damien Kausitz, who held the post for the past six years.

Television outsider Dusan Chmelicek was also brought in as head of CTV’s legal department. The moves are part of a series of changes at CTV since the April appointment of Jakub Puchalsky as director general.


British helmer Franc Roddam has signed to direct a feature film based on Noel Coward’s play “Easy Virtue,” which is being produced by American TV veteran Joe Abrams.

The deal was brokered by Ben Silverman, head of international packaging at the William Morris Agency’s London office. Roddam is repped by Charles Finch, WMA’s European head of motion pictures.

British Sky Broadcasting, British Telecom, Midland Bank and Matsushita have formally signed their partnership deal to launch British Interactive Broadcasting, after the European Commission gave its greenlight to the venture Monday.

BIB has been created to provide interactive services via BskyB’s digital sat TV platform, due to launch Oct. 1.
