AMC Entertainment Inc. has upped Richard Westerling from veep of corporate marketing to the newly created post of senior VP of film marketing.
In his new position, Westerling will be responsible for film-marketing activities in the company’s Los Angeles offices. He will assist in the strategic planning and management of AMC Theatres’ film initiatives and assume film-buying responsibilities for key distribution locations in Southern California.
“This newly created position reflects AMC Entertainment’s continued commitment to work closely with our studio partners,” said Richard M. Fay, president of AMC Film Marketing.
In his 23 years with AMC, Westerling has held several key positions in operations, film and marketing.
AMC operates 230 theaters with 2,507 screens in 23 states, the District of Columbia, Portugal and Ja-pan.
