Exec fills veepee of finance slot in Family & Home Entertainment division

Beth Collins has been appointed vice president of finance for Universal Family & Home Entertainment Prods., a new division created to combine the direct-to-video and TV episodic businesses of live-action and animated family entertainment.

In her new position, Collins will be responsible for strategic planning, deal analysis, operations, administration and production finance for all areas of the group.

“Collins will work closely with Bob Rubin, exec VP, on all business affairs, and Bill Clark, exec VP and chief operating officer, on all deal negotiations, playing a key role in growing our venture,” UFHEP president Louis Feola said.

Collins joins U from the Walt Disney Co., where since 1994 she served as director of finance for Walt Disney Theatrical Prods. With WDTP from its inception, she played a key role in growing Disney’s legit business from scratch. Among her many duties at Disney, she coordinated and managed the financial activities for the worldwide rollout of Broadway musicals “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King.”

Before Disney, Collins was an associate at Overseas Partners Inc., an internationally funded leveraged buyout firm in New York.
