Lloyd Scott has been named veepee of programming for Universal Studios Networks, which manages U’s growing roster of international networks.
He will be responsible for program acquisitions as well as developing new concepts for themed channels, such as U’s fledgling 13th Street action-and-suspense channel that launched last November in France and last month in Germany. U also has a huge presence in 18 Latin American countries with the USA Latin America general entertainment service.
Scott, who will be based in L.A., reports to Universal Studios Networks prexy and managing director Tony Garland.
Scott comes to U after spending the past decade with Fox Broadcasting Co.’s FoxNet cable web, where he most recently served as executive director of programming. Prior to FoxNet, he worked as director of programming for Fox’s Latin American cabler, Fox Latin America.
