Exec lands in programming veep post
NEW YORK — Cynthia Turner was named VP of programming for cable web TV Land, the 24-hour spinoff of Nick at Nite.
In this position, Turner will oversee all of TV Land’s strategic and creative programming, including planning all network schedules while tracking the competition. She is also responsible for leading program acquisition efforts and developing programming concepts that support the TV Land brand.
Turner was previously VP of programming and research for MMT Sales Inc., a TV station rep firm. Prior to that, she was program director and director of cable relations at WTNH, the ABC affiliate in Hartford, Conn.
The VP of programming position has been vacant at TV Land since Diane Robina was promoted to senior VP of program-ming and associate general manager in November.
TV Land is owned by Viacom under the media conglomerate’s MTV Networks division.
