Title shift at UIH names Fries, Bryan as prexies

Exex to head financial operations

United International Holdings announced Monday that Mike Fries has assumed the president’s title from Gene Schneider, who continues as chairman and CEO, while chief financial officer Tim Bryan has been named president of United Pan-European Communications, the telecommunications giant’s European subsidiary.

In his new role, Fries will head the UIH’s Latin American division and its general finance and operations, as well as maintain his current responsibilities as president of the Asia/Pacific region.

Fries’ Latin American responsibilities are being assumed from David Leonard, who, the company said, has resigned as the region’s president to pursue other interests.

Bryan, as president of United Pan-European Communications, will be responsible for the European unit’s finance division and the local operating systems.

Denver-based UIH is a leading provider of voice, video, data and programming services in 23 countries, covering 11.6 million homes.
