Exec named int'l ad sales prexy
NEW YORK — Turner Broadcasting System has promoted David Levy from executive VP to the new post of president of international advertising sales.
Levy, a 12-year veteran of Turner Broadcasting, will take charge of global sales of CNN Intl. in Europe, Asia and Latin America; and CNN en Espanol, TNT and the Cartoon Network in Latin America. Also in Levy’s portfolio is the network that TNT and the Cartoon Network share in Europe and Asia.
His responsibilities also include Turner’s Private Networks Group, which consists mainly of the CNN Airport Network. The organization Levy will run encompasses sales offices in a dozen cities throughout the world.
Starting with Turner in 1986 as a TBS account executive in the entertainment division, Levy went on to develop the Turner Sports sales division. He became senior VP for international ad sales in 1994, and got his executive VP stripes in 1996.
