Stewart joins Fox p’gramming

Former HSN exec, Diller speech writer to supe primetime

Jason Stewart has been tapped director of current programming for Fox Broadcasting Co.

Stewart, who spent the past three years as a key member of Barry Diller’s inner circle at HSN Inc. (now USA Networks Inc.), will supervise primetime dramas and comedies for Fox. He reports to department heads Jeff Eckerle and Lance Taylor, veepees of current drama and comedy programming, respectively.

At HSN, Stewart served as director of corporate operations, where his responsibilities ranged from managing corporate PR and investor relations to serving as a speech writer for Diller. He also contributed to the development of the “CityVision” local programming format set to bow in June on USA Broadcasting’s TV station in Miami.

Before joining HSN, Stewart spent two years as manager of research and publications for the American Film Marketing Assn. The film school grad also worked as a script reader for Lynda Obst Prods. and Oliver Stone’s former production company Ixtlan.
