Scandinavian Broadcasting System has appointed Bart Soepnel vice president of program acquisitions for all of its channels.
Soepnel will report to Brian Frons, senior vice president of programming for SBS, effective immediately. Soepnel has been at SBS’ Dutch outlet SBS6 since it launched in 1995. He will remain based in Amsterdam, although in his new duties he will be coordinating buying for all existing SBS channels in seven countries as well as upcoming outlets planned for Switzerland and other territories.
Soepnel will be replaced in his current position of program director by Bart in’t Hout, who had previously worked with SBS6 in its first year of operations before stepping over to Joop van den Ende Produkties for an 18-month hiatus. In’t Hout, whose new title will be program manager, will report to SBS6 general manager Fons Von Westerloo.
