NEW YORK — Sinclair Communications announced Tuesday that it will retain national representation from Katz Media, the ad-sales subsidiary of radio consolidator Chancellor Media.
Katz will handle Sinclair in a separate division called Seltel, headed by Jack Higgins, who noted that representation for his new client was previously spread over five rep firms.
The agreement, to take effect on Sinclair’s closing its Sullivan and Max Media acquisitions later this month, encompasses all properties that the broadcasting division of Baltimore-based Sinclair Broadcast Group owns, programs and plans to own.
That tally to date is 57 television stations in 37 markets and 50 radio stations in 11 markets.
Meanwhile, for Katz owner Chancellor, the number of radio stations currently owned and operated is 108.
