Twentieth Century Fox TV’s new senior vice president of talent and casting, Marcia Shulman, has hired a new casting staff at the studio.

Twentieth on Tuesday confirmed Shulman’s appointment, which had been expected, and the studio named Ann Maney director of comedy casting and Tony Martinelli manager of casting.

Shulman, a former independent film and TV casting director, was responsible for casting “Dawson’s Creek,” “Felicity,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and films such as “Jeffrey.” She replaced Randy Stone (Daily Variety, June 25). Shulman reports to 20th Century Fox TV prexy Sandy Grushow, while Maney and Martinelli report to Shulman.

Maney joins the studio from the Gersh Agency, where as an agent, she specialized in emerging comedy talent. She also worked at Disney and at Carsey-Werner in comedy development. Martinelli has spent the past five years at Universal TV, most recently as a casting associate.
