Screen Gems Studios has tapped Bill Vassar as veep of studio sales.
Vassar will oversee sales and marketing for the company’s 12 stages in New York and Wilmington, N.C., in addition to handling new business strategies for the company. He will be responsible for program development, marketing and strategic planning, including the start-up of a virtual studio production unit and the company’s entry into high definition television production.
He reports to Screen Gems Studios veep Chris Cooney.
In addition, Vassar will work with Frank Capra Jr., prexy of Screen Gems Studios/North Carolina, to further market the 34-acre Wilmington studios, which houses the North Carolina Film Commission and the primetime sudser “Dawson’s Creek.”
Prior to joining Screen Gems, Vassar worked as a consultant and producer of real-time graphics and virtual studio production projects for clients that included CBS News and Lucent Technologies. He was also veep of marketing and sales for Unitel Video in New York.
