Home vid expands staff, appoints exex

In a restructuring of its domestic marketing group, Universal Studios Home Video has announced a string of executive promotions and appointments.

The revamped department, under the leadership of Bruce Pfander, executive veep of Universal Studios Home Video, has been expanded to address the areas of strategic marketing, brand management staff, retail marketing and merchandising, and creative services and support.

Heading the new strategic marketing group is Charlie Katz as senior veep of the department, overseeing the new marketing initiatives, including consumer, trade and retail continuity programs, as well as promotional partnerships, media planning and buying, direct marketing and the Internet.

Naomi Pollock joins the company as veep of strategic marketing, following stints with Wolfgang Puck and Pepsico.

Randy Arnold has been upped to executive director of advertising and direct marketing.

Madeline Di Nonno, rising to veep of strategic alliances, will pursue third-party tie-ins, promotional partnerships and cross-divisional programs.

Formerly an area veep at PepsiCo Inc., Jane Miller will serve as senior veep of retail marketing. Vinny Di Giulio will serve as veep of retail marketing and merchandising.

Marci Miller joins the company as veep of brand management. Reporting to Miller as part of the division are Michael Polis as executive director of marketing, Susann Nicholson and Diane Gloor as senior marketing managers, and Monica Morgenthal as marketing manager.

David Shin will serve as director of interactive marketing and will manage DVD and Internet marketing programs. Shin was formerly at Disney consumer products as assistant category manager, film licensing.
