LONDON — While Seagram gets down to the detail of taking over Polygram, Polygram Filmed Entertainment’s U.K. video arm has pushed ahead with the acquisition of indie video company Astrion.
Astrion, which was founded four years ago, specializes in sports sell-through videos and has exclusive video rights to the children’s book series “Letterland.”
Astrion founder Ivor Schlosberg will help oversee the transition period before stepping down as chairman, while managing director Alison Warner will join PFE UK as part of the deal.
“Astrion has some fantastic franchises that we will look to develop in the near future,” said Peter Smith, managing director of PFE UK. “In addition, they have some of the best video executives in the business who will be joining Polygram.”
