NL taps Streigel, Ritchie

Story editor, VP of visual effects join studio

New Line Cinema has promoted Stephanie Striegel to the position of story editor and hired Lauren Ritchie as vice president, visual effects.

Striegel will oversee the submission of all scripts to the company, and supervise New Line’s staff of story analysts.

Striegel is currently part of the screenplay development team for “Trillion,” “Slapping Scarlett” and “Danger Girl.” She will report to New Line Prods. prexy Michael De Luca.

Ritchie served as visual effects producer on the studio’s mega-budgeted “Lost in Space.” She also is overseeing effects post-production on “Blade,” “Rush Hour” and “The Blast from the Past.” She will report to New Line executive vice president of production Carla Fry.

Ritchie has held visual effects positions at Warner Digital, Rysher Entertainment, TriStar Pictures, Lightstorm Entertainment and Carolco Pictures.

Striegel served as an assistant at TriStar prior to joining New Line in 1995.
