Vet grows into exec veep post

NEW YORK — National Geographic Television has promoted Andrew Carl Wilk to executive VP of programming and production, with the mandate to develop and supply new programming in the U.S. for network, cable and first-run syndication.

In the new position, Wilk will take on increased responsibility of overall management for the Washington, D.C.-based service’s nonfiction programming.

Other duties

Wilk will continue to oversee production of “National Geographic Explorer” on TBS, the National Geographic specials on NBC, the natural history unit, children’s programming, syndication and the development of multipart series for PBS.

Most recently, Wilk served as the company’s senior VP of programming and production.
