National Amusements exec feted by exhibs for service
National Amusements exec Jim Murray, who began his 54-year exhibition career as a 14-year-old usher, is set to receive the B.V. Sturdivant Award at ShoWest ’99.
The Sturdivant award each year honors individuals for their extraordinary service to and on behalf of the exhibition industry.
Murray, who serves as NA’s veep of operations, is a member of the National Assn. of Theatre Owners’ board of directors and veep of the Theatre Owners of New England and has served on the ShowEast executive committee since the organization was founded 14 years ago.
He joined NA in 1973 as district manager overseeing facilities in New York and Connecticut.
Murray will receive his award at the Reynolds & Reynolds breakfast on March 11.
ShoWest is skedded to take place March 8-11 at Bally’s hotel and casino in Las Vegas.
