Mouse House ups Mehta

Exec slides into veep, strategic planning slot

The Walt Disney Co. has upped Salil Mehta to VP of strategic planning, the company announced Thursday.

Mehta will be responsible for strategy and new business development for the Mouse House’s studios and international broadcasting, reporting to Lawrence Murphy, chief strategic officer. Mehta will also focus on Disney’s corporate strategy in Asia, coordinating development of the Disney franchise in that region.

Mehta joined Disney in 1994, serving as a manager and director of strategic planning, and previously was with the Boston Consulting Group in New York.
