Sony-based Black and Blu Entertainment has rounded out its staff with the hire of Brian Morewitz as a senior VP of development and production.
Morewitz will seek out properties to develop and produce for the company, which has a first-look deal with Sony.
He reports to partners Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal.
“He’s one of the brightest creative people I’ve met in this town,” said Black. “We hope and expect that he will bring in diverse and interesting commercial movies.”
Chrissy Richards, who worked with Black and Blumenthal at Mandalay Entertainment, has also been signed as a director of development for the company.
Morewitz, 25, comes from Lucas Foster’s Warp Films, where he was a VP of development and production. Morewitz worked on such projects as “Pillar of Fire” and “Fantasy Island.”
