NEW YORK — Miramax Films has hired veteran industry executive Kevin Kasha as exec veepee of Miramax Home Entertainment.
Before joining Miramax, Kasha was senior VP of sales and distribution at New Line Home Video.
In his new position, Kasha will oversee all homevideo releases of Miramax and its genre banner Dimension Films. Kasha will report directly to Miramax chairman of worldwide distribution Rick Sands. He will work closely with the marketing and sales staff of Buena Vista Home Video, a division of Miramax corporate parent the Walt Disney Co.
“Kevin brings an extraordinary background in the homevideo arena to this position and Miramax is fortunate to have him on our team,” Sands said. “His role as liaison between Miramax and Buena Vista Home Video will be a crucial one.”
During Kasha’s six-year tenure at New Line Home Video the unit’s sales grew from $20 million to $275 million. He was responsible for determining the homevideo release schedule and oversaw the sales relationship with Warner Home Video and New Line Home Video’s Canadian distribution division.
