HOLLYWOOD — In an effort to strengthen its presence in live- and special-event markets, Matthews Studio Equipment Group on Monday announced plans that it has expanded operations to Las Vegas.
The Burbank-based production equipment supplier has opened a 10,000-square-foot warehouse in Las Vegas that will extend the company’s operations to the Nevada market. The facility opened in early July.
The expansion is part of Matthews’ plan to extend operations into the theatrical and live event areas while adding to its already-existing network of 15 warehouses across the country, including those in Seattle, Phoenix, Albuquerque, N.M., Charlotte, N.C., and Orlando, Fla. It also operates the Hollywood Rental Co. division.
Tim Brennan, formerly of Cinema Services of Las Vegas, serves as general manager of the new facility.
Matthews Studio Equipment Group specializes in rental of lighting, grip, generators, professional video and film equipment, along with sales and support of general entertainment consumables and full lighting control and systems.
