MGM has upped Doug Gleason to the post of senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for the consumer products division.
Gleason had been a member of the unit since 1997, when he joined as senior veepee of marketing. In his new position, he’ll be responsible for the division’s daily operations, including oversight of sales and marketing, licensing strategies, new market development and overall coordination among film, television and homevid groups.
He’ll continue to report to Linda Berman, exec veepee and general manager of MGM consumer products.
Gleason came to MGM from 20th Century Fox Intl., where he served three years as vice president of publicity and promotions. Other consumer product licensing experience include positions at the Walt Disney Co. and Pepsi U.S.A.
