IATSE, producers reach agreement

Sides ink four-year pact

Members of IATSE Local 52, which represents motion picture studio mechanics in New York, have reached a tentative agreement for a new four-year contract with producers.

Local president George DiTitta said negotiations for the pact began in May — with another meeting in late June — and concluded on Friday. The negotiators were the local’s legal counsel Steve Spivak, and, for the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, senior vice president Carol Lombardini.

The terms and conditions of the agreement will be presented within a month to the full membership of the local in the form of a contract ratification ballot.
