SYDNEY — David Glass, one of the pioneers of multiplexing in Southeast Asia, has been bumped to a senior management job at Village Roadshow’s Melbourne headquarters, overseeing the company’s cinema interests in Asia.
For the past five years, Glass was general manager of Village’s Singapore circuit (a co-venture with Hong Kong’s Golden Harvest).
Now he’s been upped to general manager of exhibition development and of Movieline, the tele-ticketing company jointly owned by Village, Hoyts and Greater Union.
John Anderson, Village Cinemas Intl.’s managing director, said Glass will oversee the company’s exhibition developments and investments in Asia.
Glass’ Singapore post has been filled by Gerald Dibbayawan, formerly general manager of Thailand exhib Entertain Golden Village.
