Fine Line Features has appointed Alexandra Rossi as its London-based manager of European acquisitions.
Rossi will report to Emma Clarke, the specialized distrib’s vice president of co-productions and acquisitions, and its most senior exec in London.
Rossi, who will start immediately, will focus on scouting for foreign-language films for the New Line-owned company. She will attend European film festivals and develop Euro producer/director relationships.
“We have always placed a great emphasis on our European presence,” commented Mark Ordesky, Fine Line prexy, “and Alexandra brings a new depth to the operation we already have in place.”
Prior to joining Fine Line, Rossi was head of theatrical acquisitions and marketing for RCS Films & Television in Rome. She started with RCS as development exec in 1993.
She was associated with titles such as “Fargo,” “Portrait of a Lady” and “Blood and Wine,” and instrumental in the acquisition of “In the Company of Men” and “Basquiat.”
It’s not the first time that she has worked for New Line in some capacity, having had a brief stint as a script analyst for the mini-major.
