Film Roman has tapped Peter L. Kaufman as VP of business and legal affairs. Kaufman was formerly director of business and legal affairs at Live Entertainment.
At his new post, Kaufman will handle most of the live action theatrical and television deals for Film Roman, an area in which the company is expanding. He reports to Jon Vein, senior VP, and will work with Amy Lynne Pucker, VP of business and legal affairs. Pucker will continue handling most of the animation deals for the company.
While at Live, Kaufman worked on “Suicide Kings,” “Caught Up” and the forthcoming “Permanent Midnight.” Prior to that, he was in private practice where he represented independent theatrical and television producers, screenwriters, talent and theatrical distributors, including Pioneer USA on their Laserdisc Special Editions, Raygun and Bikini magazines and distributor Cinequanon Pictures Intl.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Kaufman was associated with the Century City litigation firm Parkinson, Wolf, Lazar and Leo.
