Marcia S. Ross has been upped to the new position of senior VP of casting for all three of the Disney-based motion picture banners. Ross will continue to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of casting for motion pictures produced under the Walt Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures banners. Ross began her career at the studio in 1995 when she was named VP of casting for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures.

MGM Worldwide Television Group has upped Mel Swope to executive VP of production. At his new post, Swope will continue to oversee production and post-production of all live-action programming worldwide. Swope joined MGM Worldwide Television Group in 1994 as senior VP of production. He has overseen such successful projects as “12 Angry Men” and “The Outer Limits.”

RCA Records has tapped Nick Cucci veepee of marketing. In his new role, Cucci will be responsible for creating and overseeing the execution of marketing plans including advertising and image campaigns. Cucci comes to RCA from Columbia Records.

Rosalie Frazier has been named chief operating officer of the TV Strategy Group. In her new position, Frazier will oversee the company’s day-to-day international research and consulting operations from its London headquarters. Frazier was most recently director of Asia business development for Frank N. Magid Associates in Malaysia.

Declan O’Brien has been tapped VP of development at production/distribution company Team Entertainment, and Rob Marhaim has been upped to VP of current production and development at the company. O’Brien hails from a five-year stint at Disney; Morhaim joined Team in 1997 and served as director of development and production.

United Talent Agency has announced the addition of agent Elana Barry to its television literary department. Barry’s responsibilities will include representing UTA’s roster of leading television writers and producers in both television and film. Prior to joining UTA, Barry was a television literary agent at Innovative Artists. She began her career in the mailroom at ICM.

Ethnic-American Broadcasting Company announced two executive positions. Murray Klippenstein has been tapped exec veepee of corporate development and Richard P. Ramirez has been named exec veepee, broadcast group. Klippenstein will be responsible for conceptualizing and negotiating all new business ventures; Ramirez will oversee the launch and rollout of EABC’s foreign lingo services.

Lori D. Terwell appointed veepee of creative services for Fox Television Stations; Eugene J. Lavelle named exec VP and general sales manager of Station Store; GRTV Network has tapped Brooke Thomas VP of national advertising sales; Spelling Entertainment Worldvision has tapped Deborah Hackenberry veep of research, and Christopher Gerondale executive director of research; David Kneupper named president of Soundelux Hollywood;

Scott Free Productions has buoyed Stephen Kent Foster to director of development and has upped Edwin Kasiba to story editor. Foster was previously a story analyst for the company; Kashiba served there as assistant to two senior veepees of production.

Robert M. Hebenstreit has been named veepee of research for Paxson Communication’s PaxNet web, due to bow Aug. 31. Hebenstreit comes to Paxson after spending 16 years with station rep firm Petry Television, most recently as VP and director of research.

KCRW (89.9 FM) has named Kyle McKinnon the new producer of “Which Way, L.A?” with Warren Olney, the station’s signature public affairs program. McKinnon has served as writer-producer for news and entertainment shows at television stations KTLA and KCAL, in addition to writing and reporting for Tribune New Media Development and The Orlando Sentinel.

Michael Kreig and Lisa Yasuda have joined weblet WB as account execs. Kreig was formerly with ABC for nearly a decade, most recently as senior account executive, primetime sales. Yasuda has served at NBC since 1995 as account exec, daytime, late night and Saturday-morning sales. Both Kreig and Yasuda will be based in the WB’s New York office.

Gary Lane has been named VP for worldwide routing and tours at Feld Entertainment. In his new post, Lane will be responsible for coordinating the company’s domestic and international touring productions. Lane most recently served as director of the theaters and arenas division of the city of Denver.

Barbara Zaneri has been upped to VP of cable sales for Studios USA TV Distribution, a post that finds her overseeing cable sales of firstrun, offnet and Universal library product. Previously, Zaneri served as manager of western region sales for Universal.
