MGM Worldwide Television Group has upped Mel Swope to executive VP of production. In his new post, Swope will continue to oversee production and post-production of all live-action programming worldwide. Swope joined MGM Worldwide Television Group in 1994 as senior VP of production. He has overseen such successful projects as “12 Angry Men” and “The Outer Limits.”
Marguerite A. Pacacha has been upped to veepee of business and legal affairs at Republic Entertainment. Pacacha’s new responsibilities include managing the business and legal affairs department. Before joining Republic in 1996, Pacacha was general counsel and director of business affairs at Best Film & Video Corp.
The Motion Picture Assn. of America has upped Phuong Huynh to director of public affairs. Before Huynh joined the MPAA in 1992, she worked in the Washington office of Turner Broadcasting System. She takes over for Rich Taylor, who now heads MPAA’s public affairs operations.
Adult trade group publisher Paul Fedorko is stepping down at William Morrow & Co., and Michael Murphy, veepee and sales director since 1995, has been named his successor. Before joining Morrow, Murphy held posts at Putnam and Ballantine. Also, Jacqueline Deval has been upped to veepee and publisher of Hearst Books, owner of William Morrow since 1981.
